The breakfast was excellent with many choices to enjoy
I liked the location. The staff were friendly. The photos on booking.com suggested something that wasn't really there. I can't remember exactly what was said at the check in but the check out was interesting. The reception desk was closed. We left the keys in the room. It was easy enough but unexpected and relied on us guessing the process.
The hotel was good, no complaints but as I said, not what I expected given the photos. Other times when I have stayed in old hotels, there is an element of the old-world charm and facilities. This was lacking but there was nothing really wrong with the hotel itself, it was simply my expectation based on what I saw in booking.com.

The town was quite cultural, with its huge and historically significant castle, and outdoor museum of wooden buildings - but the indoor museum is currently undergoing a year long refurbishment and so inaccessible. The town is also quite pretty, particularly along the river. For shoppers there is a good selection of stores, as well as cafes and restaurants. Like all of Sweden it will be found expensive by non Scandinavians. We arrived by rail, which is a good way to travel, though the station is a little way from the town centre.

Örebro is a charming little town that could easily be done in a day. There are at most three attractions to really see in the city. Nevertheless, if you want to get away from Stockholm or Uppsala, it is perfect. You will enjoy walking around the city and its parks.

Örebro is a very beautiful, nice and cosy city.
Örebro is a very beautiful, nice and cosy city. Just enjoyed walking for hours in it's streets and explore! There are a lot of attractions - impressive castle with great history and ducks enjoying tourists company, stunning gothic cathedral Olaus Petri kyrka with it's old graveyard, green Stadsparken (by Svarton river) full of flowers and lovely places to relax, Wadkoping Open Air Museum with it's atmospere of old days, lovely butics with souvenirs and coffe shops, famous water tower Svampen looks like a giant white mushroom, and just nice city streets with friendly people... whole lotta things to photograph!
Many local buses - around the city and the surrounding area - which are convenient to move around. Hemkop on Fredsgatan is good place to buy food; in Pressbyrån one can buy not only food and magazines, but bus tickets as well.
Absolutely great city to spend a week and relax! Got the best experiences and strong intention to come back next year!
Our stay in hotel Hjalmar was lovely! We arrived pretty late but the nice staff made sure that we have all the information and welcomed us very kindly. The breakfast was superb too, they even opened it 30 min earlier for us since we had an early morning. Our room was so spacious and comfy with everything we needed. And ofc, the location was just right - 2min away from the bus/train station and 2min away from the castle/center of the city. We stayed there for the first time, but it won't be the last.
The hotel is located in an impressive building, thought is was a church - but actually was a bank.
Rooms are reasonably sized,
Very nice breakfast
Hotel staff was very helpful in setting us up for trips around town. - along the canal and to the old time village, etc.
The city center is very close by - many restaurants and outdoor beer places...
Complementary dinner was reasonable, even though the selection was limited (but at no cost...)
Since there is nothing particularly positive to say about the stay, other than the roof over my head and an average bed, I will only add here that I broke off my stay and stayed at Elite Stora, just a few hundred meters away, with a view of Örebro castle, a small spa, and without the stench for the same price.
Great and comfortable hotel which is close to the train station. The staff was very friendly and the modern-looking hotel appears to be quite new (summer 2023). Our rooms were nice and clean and it was no problem to bring a dog. The breakfast was also decent. I would come again. Recommended!
Excellent location right next to the Örebro Slott. Staff was friendly and they welcomed us even after the official check in hours and helped us to find a place to park our car. Room was spacious and clean, and in decent condition considering the age of the building.
Decoration of the hotel was special, I don't know but think was styled by owner Hannah ;-) Nice, comfortable and clean rooms, very kind staff. Breakfast was fine. Located next to the railway- and bus station and, close to the city centre.
Good place to stay when you visit Orebro, 1 minutes walking from train/bus station, 1 block of distance, you can move around the city center by walk, the internet wifi worked very well for my job calls, and upload/download files
Very nice personnel. Unfortunately, I booked the wrong day and for the day I needed a hotel it was already booked. They were really nice at the phone and proposed to refund the money. I only had to pay the booking.com fee.
Lovely little hotel very much in the centre of town. The staff was very friendly and professional and the hotel parking was spacious and cheap. Breakfast was good and the decor inside the hotel was nice and cosy.
The hostess was amazing - very kind, knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome! The hotel is quaint and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious too! Highly recommend.
